Derrière l’église, près d’une annexe de l’école d’art locale, nous découvrons des signes qui semblent être très bien codifié, mais nous pensons tout d’abord à un alphabet imaginaire. Nous saurons plus tard par des Bulgares, qu’il s’agit du proto-langage Glagolitsa, qui est né dans la région Bulgare et a nourri en partie le Cyrillique. Nous nous rendons compte que mettre en œuvre ces signes dans notre travail fait beaucoup réagir les Bulgares, avec une grande fierté pour cette histoire linguistique, eux qui se sentent souvent relégués à une Histoire toujours dure. Nous voulons l’incorporer d’une façon ou d’une autre dans l’un de nos projets.
Behind the church, near the annex of the local art school, we find out some signs which seem to be very well codified, but at first we think it’s an imaginary alphabet. Some Bulgars inform us later that it’s the Glagolitsa proto-language, which is born in the area of Bulgaria and partially fueled the Cyrillic alphabet. We realize that using these signs in our work prompts a strong reaction from the Bulgars, with great pride for this linguisitc history, while their history is often reduced to the hard times. We want to incorporate these Glagolitic signs in one way or another in our projects.
